As such, recent research has indicated that adults can benefit from learning multiple skills. Cognitive control increases, memory span widens, problem-solving improves, motor control refines, attention strengthens, and neural networks expand. Long-term mental effects from a real-world multi-skill learning intervention in older adults have been seen up to one year following the intervention compared to baseline assessments. Thus, intense learning experiences may lead to considerable cognitive growth in older adulthood.
