Today, evidence-based nursing practice is an actively developing area in nursing, the purpose of which is to improve the efficiency and quality of nurses’ work. This direction can be successfully integrated with other modern principles of nursing care, such as the nursing diagnosis or the nursing process as a whole. To date, some circumstances create difficulties in developing evidence-based nursing practice. Although nurses are qualified and certified medical personnel, there is still a barrier that prevents nurses from practicing based on evidence.
One of the barriers preventing nurses is the lack of nurses’ access to electronic medical resources. In order for nurses to have the opportunity to gain new knowledge, progress in their work, as well as receive the necessary information from the database, they need access to medical resources. The inability to study electronic medical resources is a significant obstacle to the development of nurses, as well as their reduction in their ability to provide highly qualified medical care to patients (Li et al., 2019). To solve this problem, it is advisable to create resource centers for evidence-based nursing practice in various country regions. This solution will help nurses get the necessary access and development in their chosen field of care.
Previously, I thought that evidence-based practice does not make much sense since all clinical cases are different, and it is difficult to find an entirely appropriate one. Over time, when faced with evidence-based practice, I realized how valuable the proposed base can be and how useful it is for nurses to gain knowledge and experience. In addition to using evidence-based practice, it will be helpful for nurses to undergo online training, which is conducted by professional nurses and doctors, to improve and update knowledge.
In conclusion, evidence-based practice is necessary in order for nurses to be able to provide patients with high-quality professional care. The barrier to obtaining new knowledge is the lack of access to electronic resources. Nevertheless, the solution to this issue exists and requires implementation in the practice of medical institutions. Access to databases will help nurses expand their knowledge and skills, as well as become professionals in their field.
