Patients rarely understand what type of nurses serve them; this is because the qualitative result is the main thing in working with people admitted to the hospital. The condition of hospital visitors often prevents them from accessing information about the nurses providing care. Moreover, patients do not always want know what types of nurses can work with them. Delegation is an essential part of medical practice and has many advantages.
The level of safety and quality of work depends on how non-standard or complex the situation is in line with the skill level of a nurse. For example, drawing up an algorithm of actions in case of a conflict with a patient can be delegated to a nurse with a psycho-pedagogical background. There is an obvious need to delegate tasks when performing teamwork. Knowing each subordinate’s merits, a competent manager should select feasible tasks in which a particular nurse can perform most effectively.
Successful task assignment also improves economic performance of medical organizations. The nurse who is best suited for a particular activity can get the job done with the least amount of time and thus be a profitable employee who can be highly productive (Bobo, 2022). I am convinced that delegation will not be a challenging task at the beginning of the professional activity. This is primarily since the curriculum involved a lot of teamwork. In addition, delegation helps to build better communication within the team. Thus, delegation is effective in various aspects of nursing practice, including safety and quality of work, teamwork, and cost-effectiveness.
