A good understanding and evaluating evidence in order to apply it to nurse’s practice is of importance to the nursing practice. According to Ellis (2019), due to challenging and changing regulations and patients’ power in health care facilities, there is increasing need for nurses to justify their decisions made about the patient’s health. Therefore, there is the need for nurses to acquire know how of to identify evidence for informing practices and how to apply the evidence in practice. The nurses help enable evidence-based practice in health care facilities through reducing or subsidizing care cost for the patients not using medical insurance cover. Role of Nurses in Research
In research, the role of nurses is vital as they easily coordinate the principal investigator day to day. Approaches in Nursing Research
Nursing research helps answer questions on the problems faced in clinical practice, administration, and education. The research paradigm in nursing directs how the research questions are formulated, plans how the formulated questions will be investigated, selects the appropriate research design and methods or approaches to be used (Nieswiadomy & Bailey, 2018). The approach selected for use either qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-method involves methods of data collection, analyzation, and interpretation. Qualitative is subjective approach which involves using peer reviewed secondary data and experiences to collect data while quantitative is an objective approach used to obtain numerical data. Mixed-method approach employs the use of qualitative and quantitative approaches sequentially as one is used to reinforce the other.

Application of nursing research findings effectively helps improve the patients’ health outcomes and promotes the development of nursing as a discipline. The impacts of the findings are gauged depending on the academic level of the findings, the value system, the benefits, and the clinical setting to enable application of the findings (Nieswiadomy & Bailey, 2018). The quality of the research to be used is evaluated as objects and conclusions to be made must be peer reviewed. Similarly, the quantity criteria is dependent upon data calculations and a quantitative model made.
